On March 12, Center Point Fire District crews responded to assist the City of Center Point with a special visitor at City Hall. A deer had wandered onto the property and was enjoying a little sunshine near the building.
Firefighters worked to calmly contain the deer before it could make its way onto the parkway and into traffic. We are happy to report the deer was safely taken into custody by the Jefferson County Sheriffβs Office later that evening and is expected to be released in a safe area.
While wildlife rescues are not part of our everyday calls, we are always ready to assist our community whenever needed, even its four-legged members!
